I wanted to thank all the great dancers at the hafla tonight. I was one of the drummers (grey shirt, blue inlaid drum). I'm soaking my poor dominant hand in ice water now so I can play tomorrow! Great energy, great dancing. We gotta do this more often!! ;-) Till next year!

Where the HELL is my sound effect? I cant make my grand entrance with out it. ... What do you mean it's still missing?

GET OUT OF MY FACE YOU IDIOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!

IM Sorry. It is I the Genie from Miami,

I want to thank all the drummers that night, I had a blast. I knew that Karim knew Tahteeb, the Egyptian Stick dance and I really wanted to see it and Learn it. So when he and the drummers performed it was like I had gotten and amazing birthday present. I had wanted to move the drummers over to the wall and set up so that Karim had more space to swing the stick around. But he insisted on going in that small space. I had no idea that he was such a great dancer. Peter thank goodness I didn't clock you. Im going to speak to Maja and to the manger and Owner of Off the Huka. It's obvious they don't want our business. Their was club was packed they acted like they didn't need us their. So, F@#K it. We can go some where else or meet at the hotel pool.

    Lots of Love
    Bill the Miami Genie

the drumming was awesome Peter, you're all awesome drummers. Ken, everyone. Lotus had a real fun time inprovising for a couple of hours there, it served us as a rehearsal for our Monday night gig. hehehhe. well, until people from the club came in and started dancing in between us, these were club girls by the things they said and how they dressed.

Off the Hooka is good during the week when there's not that many people there, but the weekends, you're right they don't need our business at $7.00 a plain vodka/cranberry (6 oz plastic cup) I rather bring my own booz to the beach.

      there's an idea.

Karim's Cane was insane. what a show.

the entire weekend was incredible. I had a blast,.
loved everything. and Genie, I"m still dreaming about your earrings, don't fall asleep around me. ;)

I agree wholeheartedly with moving the party somewhere else or just keeping with the pool party, seeing as how Genie's was completely kick-ass. I would have loved to dance more but moving around was an impossibility and I even managed to accidently take out a torch (YAY! I no kill everyone!!!) while trying to move away from the hubbub. My only real highlight was seeing Genie rock out with Karim who then proceeded to entertain the hell out of us with sticks.

Let's light a bonfire, take over the beach and disguise the booze. I think that would absolutely rule.

I agree, I thought the location for the after show party was ok at best. I felt like the people who ran "Off the Hookah" were a little shady with their prices. A different location is my vote too. The pool party was cool and I wish I hadn't been so tired or else I would've dance more...But Genie got evidence of me dancing.

Thanks to everyone for making my first SotT a good one! My fiance and I were even talking about coming down there next year to take a break from planning for our wedding.

My most memorable moment would have to be making the aquintance of Genie. Crazy guy, but fun to know.
