PooF!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I got it back) The Genie from Miami,
I wanted to thank all the Drummers on Saturday night for indulging me on a whim. I really wanted to see Karim perform the Egyptian Stick dance Tahteeb. I was equally surprised when he called me out I perform with him. I had wanted to move the space over my the side walk to prevent injury, but he insisted on staying put and put on one hell of a performance. I also wanted to know if any one has video of Karim performing? If so, do not put it on you tube until you ask him out of respect. I would love to see this performance but I don’t want to piss him off so he wont want to come back to Spirit. I have wanted to learn this art form for some time and I was so pleased that night that it was like having my Bday present watching him perform.

Fri, May 9, 2008 - 12:28 AMI don't have video but I do want to say that the ONLY pictures I took the entire weekend (I'm not a picture girl) is of the two of you with the stick balanced with either end between your bodies. I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the name of that particular dance but man, it was a really heavy moment that I eagerly drank in with my eyes. That kicked serious ass, quite literally the highlight of my Saturday night and I really hope that Karim shows up next year.
